From the 1967 Lots to the Canals: Floors in Spring Hill
Spring Hill opened in May 1967 as a planned community, and its 28,500 original lots sold out in about three years. Today it's home to more than 113,000 people, from the first modest houses to the Hernando Beach canals.
Spring Hill opened with 5 miles of road, 15 model homes and a sales office. The waterfall fountain at US 19 and Spring Hill Drive marked the entrance. The first homes were modest, many with two bedrooms, one and a half baths and a one-car garage, aimed at retirees on fixed incomes. The Suncoast Parkway reached the area in 2001 and the growth never really stopped. The community was first going to be called Spring Lake, but that name was already in use locally.

Not until everything is fully dry, including the slab and the bottom of the walls. Drying out a house is not our work. We rebuild after drying is done. The installer checks the slab's moisture before anything goes down, because covering a damp slab traps the moisture under the new floor.
