Is vinyl plank a sensible choice for a Victorian house near Fort King Street?
It can be, especially in kitchens, baths and back rooms where water is a risk. Vinyl plank floats over the original boards, so they aren't damaged. If the original floors are in good shape in the main rooms, you may want to keep them showing. The installer checks the framing either way.
Can vinyl plank go in a barn apartment on our farm?
If the space is heated and cooled like a home, yes. Flooring makers set a temperature range the room has to stay within, and an unconditioned barn space may fall outside it. Tell the installer how the apartment is heated and cooled, and they'll check it against the maker's rules at the measurement.

Grit is what wears down any floor. The 20-mil wear layer is the thickest option and holds up best to it. Put a heavy mat at every entry and sweep often. The plank is waterproof, so you can mop the mud without worrying about swelling.
We live in On Top of the World and want the tile gone. Can plank go over it?
Sometimes. If the tile is flat and firmly bonded, vinyl plank can float over it with no demolition. Loose or hollow tiles have to come out first. The installer checks during the free measurement and tells you which way makes sense for your home.
Our old house has tall baseboards and doors that already stick. Will new floors make it worse?
They can, because the plank adds a little height. The installer checks each door's clearance and how the plank meets the baseboards. A door may need a small trim to clear it. It's better to know that at the measurement than on install day.
