The Sarasota School of Architecture shaped local building from 1941 to 1966. Homes from that movement were built with flat roofs, open plans, white concrete block walls and terrazzo floors. Can vinyl plank go right over terrazzo?
Usually, yes. Terrazzo is hard and flat, which makes a good base. The installer checks for cracks, loose patches and low spots and may fill or level before laying planks. Because a floating floor isn't glued to the terrazzo, some owners choose it as a way to cover a worn floor without tearing it out.
Our condo board requires a certain sound rating. What should we bring to the measurement?
