Sumter County was long one of the most rural places in Florida, and in a generation it became one of the oldest. On a wet morning by the sink, textured vinyl plank holds a foot better than glazed ceramic tile does. The attached pad also gives more underfoot if you do fall. Ask to see textured samples at the free measurement, and keep mats by the shower and the kitchen sink.

Yes. Book the free measurement early in your season so materials can be ordered, and most installs are completed in a single day once they arrive. Before you head north, set the air conditioning within the flooring maker's range and have someone check the house after storms.
Can the new floor run from room to room without bumps for a walker?
Usually. Vinyl plank can often run through connected rooms without a strip, and where a transition is needed it's a low one. Tell the installer about the walker at the measurement so the layout keeps height changes to a minimum. Throw rugs cause more trips than any transition strip.
Can vinyl plank go on our lanai or in the golf cart garage?
Usually not. Flooring makers set a temperature range, and a garage or an unconditioned lanai in a Florida summer falls outside it. The plank belongs in the rooms that stay under air. If a lanai has been enclosed and cooled, the installer can look at it during the measurement.
We live on land outside Bushnell or Webster. Do you come out that far?
Yes. Rural homes take more sand, mud and pet traffic than most, so the 20-mil wear layer is the one to get. It lasts 20-plus years over an SPC core. The installer checks the subfloor and door clearances at the free measurement before anything is ordered.
